Samuli Kyttälä was elected to the board of directors of BioEnergo and will also assume to the role of Head of Owners Engineering Team (OET).

Samuli Kyttälä (49) was elected to the board of directors of BioEnergo and will also assume to the role of Head of Owners Engineering Team (OET). Samuli brings to BioEnergo a wealth of experience from demanding senior leadership roles at Neste Oy, Neste-Jacobs Oy and most recently at Wärtsilä Oy.

We are very delighted to have Samuli join the BioEnergo team as a Board member and as Head of Owners Engineering Team, says Timo Saini, chairman of BioEnergo. Samuli brings us vast expertise in successful implementation of large-scale projects, especially in the energy sector. His experience gained during a long career at Neste Oy, Neste-Jacobs Oy and Wärtsilä Oy make Samuli a perfect fit for BioEnergo as BioEnergo is moving to Basic Engineering phase with respect to the Pori, Kaanaa Industrial Park, biorefinery.

Samuli joined Wärtsilä Oy in 2017 in the role of Senior business development manager and later held the position of Senior business innovation manager.

Prior to Wärtsilä Samuli spent twenty years at Neste Oy and Neste-Jacobs Oy. From 2013 to 2017 Samuli was stationed in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with the responsibility of scaling up Neste-Jacob?s operations in the Middle East by developing and executing a strategic roadmap to grow the business in the area.

Samuli on koulutukseltaan konetekniikan diplomi-insinööri Teknillisestä korkeakoulusta.

BioEnergo tavoite on vähentää liikenteen aiheuttamaa hiilidioksidia. BioEnergo is in the process of building an advanced second-generation biofuel refinery in Pori, Kaanaa Industrial Park, Finland. BioEnergo?s products will help our customers meet their regulatory biofuel distribution mandates and help corporates reduce their carbon footprints. The biorefinery will use certified forest industry side stream sawdust and chips as feedstock to produce an estimated 60 000 m3 of advanced 2G bioethanol (for passenger cars), 130 000 MWh of 2G liquid biogas (for heavy duty vehicles), 73 000 tons of lignin (for low-CO2 asphalt, roofing felt and concrete) and 44 000 tons of CO2 (for industry/circular economy). At full production BioEnergo will employ directly and indirectly up to 250 people.
