2nd Generation Bioconversion

2nd generation bioconversion, also known as cellulosic bioconversion, is a process, where valuable products are produced by the transformation of non-edible raw materials like wood, into bioethanol, lignin, etc.

Proven technology for 2-g bioconversion from wood

Biorefinery process

SEKAB E-Technology has developed a technology platform, CelluAPP®, for conversion of ligno-cellulosic biomasses to bio-ethanol and intermediate product streams such as cellulosic sugars and lignin.

The technology platforms have been developed, tested and verified during 12 years of demo plant operation in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. The demo plant is a complete continuous (24/7) production process covering every step from biomass intake to the distilled ethanol product and lignin bulk materials.
