As the technical planning for BioEnergo´s first biorefinery in Pori Kaanaankorpi industrial park advances, the company has decided to strengthen its executive management. BioEnergo Oy appoints Ilkka Iittiläinen, M.Sc. (Tech.), Master of Laws, MBA, as Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the Executive Committee. Iittiläinen will join BioEnergo no later than 5 June 2023.
Ilkka Iittiläinen has 20 years of experience within logistics, procurement, and industrial investment projects implementation in the oil refining industry. Ilkka´s previous assignments with Neste Oyj include Vice President, Procurement (CPO), Vice President, Logistics & Operations, and Managing Director, Neste Oil Bahrain. Iittiläinen joins BioEnergo from Betolar Oyj where he has worked as COO and a member of the executive team.<\/p>
?I´m excited about this opportunity to work again within biofuels and sustainable traffic solutions. BioEnergo plays an important role in securing the supply of high-quality biofuels not only in Finland but abroad as well. The use of 2nd generation bioethanol and biogas as traffic fuels both in land and marine transport helps EU to achieve its GHG-emission targets under RED2-directive. Furthermore, other production side-streams such as hydrolysis lignin and CO2 provide interesting opportunities in the solutions supporting the green transition. BioEnergo´s first plant in Finland will also play an important role in domestic fuel production supporting national security of supply. ?, says Ilkka Iittiläinen.<\/p>

BioEnergo´s biorefinery in Pori will be among the biggest 2nd generation bioethanol plants in Europe and therefore has a crucial role for the EU in reducing traffic CO2 emissions by 2030.<\/p>
BioEnergon ensimmäisen, Porin Kaanaankorven teollisuusalueelle sijoittuvan tuotantolaitoksen suunnittelun edetessä yhtiö on päättänyt vahvistaa johtoryhmäänsä. BioEnergo Oy on nimittänyt Ilkka Iittiläisen (DI, OTM, MBA) yhtiön kaupalliseksi johtajaksi (CCO) ja johtoryhmän jäseneksi. Iittiläinen aloittaa uudessa tehtävässään viimeistään 5.6.2023.<\/p>
Ilkka Iittiläisellä on 20 vuoden kokemus logistiikasta, hankinnasta ja teollisten investointihankkeiden toteutuksesta öljynjalostusteollisuudessa. Hän on työskennellyt aiemmin Neste Oyj:n palveluksessa mm. konsernin hankintajohtajana, konsernin logistiikasta ja operaatioista vastaavana johtajana sekä projektijohtajana kansainvälisessä jalostamohankkeessa. Iittiläinen siirtyy BioEnergoon Betolar Oyj:n operatiivisen johtajan tehtävästä.<\/p>
?On hienoa päästä jälleen työskentelemään uusiutuvien polttoaineiden ja puhtaamman liikenteen ratkaisujen parissa. BioEnergolla on tärkeä rooli korkealuokkaisten biopolttoaineiden saatavuuden turvaamisessa. Bioetanoli ja biokaasu mahdollistavat hiilidioksidipäästöjen vähentämiseen niin tie- kuin meriliikenteessäkin. Sivuvirtoina saatavat ligniini ja CO2 tarjoavat monia mahdollisuuksia erilaisissa vihreän siirtymän ratkaisuissa. BioEnergon laitoshanke on tärkeä myös omavaraisen polttoainetuotannon ja huoltovarmuuden näkökulmasta.?, toteaa Ilkka Iittiläinen.<\/p>
